The Academy of Art University has done many amazing things since its inception. Located in beautiful San Francisco, California, this for-profit art school has produced plenty of talent that has went on to become a huge success. Some of the talent has been a part of Hollywood’s biggest blockbuster-movies. The list includes Sully, Trolls, Doctor Strange, 13 Hours, Deepwater Horizon, Hacksaw Ridge and The Jungle Book. This is an Oscar-nominated alumni. These individuals has a forte in music production, sound design, film writing, digital media and visual effects. On the other hand, the Academy of Art University has produced a lot of talent in fashion and New York Fashion Week has been like the school’s second home.
New York Fashion Week is the epitome of fashion excellence. The amateurs of today will become the professionals of tomorrow. The Academy of Art University has been coming here for years, and it has certainly represented to the fullest. Last year was the school’s 21st appearance, and it publicized two menswear lines as well as five womenswear lines. On top of that, this extraordinary talent put together two collaborations for the audience to enjoy. These collections were actually made-up of 10 BFA and MFA graduates. This eclectic style of fashion comes from a myriad of talented individuals that come from around the world. “Each collection has an individual spirit,” said Executive Director Simon Ungless.
With over 12,000 students, over 280 full-time teachers and more than 1,154 part-time teachers, this academy claims to be the biggest private-owned art and design school in the U.S. Richard Stephens founded the school back in 1929, it has regional accreditation, and it has a brilliant inner-city campus. All in all, the Academy of Art University has opened many lucrative-doors for its students and it will continue to do so in the years to come.
